What You'll See:
This sequence follows the "Unsociable Cows" video: it shows what Chris did after the cows pulled the bull away and after they finally headed to their bedding area for the morning. Another example of working bulls in close to their bedding areas, this video highlights "the long game," and takes you through nearly a full hour of Chris' approach, choice of set-ups, and all the calling needed to finally get the herd bull in front of the camera, at 10 steps! This is yet another video where Chris shows you how to "...Make the Right Call" and "Call 'em to Your Toes!"
Again, like in some of the other videos, this sequence is almost completely un-cut, so you'll see everything as it happened, as fast (or slow...) as it happened, out in the field. Also, it's titled "Age and Wisdom" because you get to see several examples of the difference in the behavior, and reactions, of young bulls vs. the mature bull. ...they don't get old and big by being stupid!
Setting the Stage:
Again, this follows the "Unsociable Cows" video, so it's late September, mid-morning, and Chris has followed the herd bull and his cows up a shallow "valley" toward their bedding area. As soon as it sounded as though the bull was starting to slow down and spend more time in one area (often times an indication that the cows are starting to bed down, and that he's getting ready to settle in himself), Chris hit record on the camera and started working his way in to work the bull. Because he used a Passive Cow Calling Strategy earlier in the morning, and because he was able to work in extremely close to the bull (presumably right on the edge of where the cows were bedding), Chris used a Targeted Cow Calling Strategy – enhanced at times with a few "Passive" Strategy sequences – to work this herd bull.
Viewing / Listening Tips:
This sequence is best listened to via headphones or earbuds to pick up on some of the subtle – but important – vocalizations that are made in this sequence. Use CAUTION, however, when setting your volume as Chris' calling is proportionally much louder than the rest of the audio. So don't set your volume too loud or you may hurt your ears!
