Just like with the bugle mouthpieces and reeds themselves, there are a variety of different styles of bugle tubes – or grunt tubes – to choose from. In these videos, Chris goes over the five most common styles of bugle tubes – compact tubes, collapsible tubes, tubes without resonating chambers, tubes WITH resonating chambers, and “bat” style tubes – and talks about the characteristics of each tube, and each tube’s advantages/disadvantages and strengths/weaknesses. With that information, you’ll be better able to:
1.Understand WHICH tube may be right for you and your specific calling needs;
2.Know what to expect out of a tube that you might already own; and/or
3.Find the type of tube you’ll need in order to achieve a different sound.
