In Episodes #177 and #178, Chris and Jay talk about this (condensed) video sequence Chris filmed in the summer of 2016. While traffic noise is unfortunate, and unavoidable in this clip, in this case, the existence of the road, and the traffic on it, was largely the cause of WHY this cow was vocalizing the way she was. This particular cow was traveling with a group of about 30 other cows and calves, and – at some point – became separated from her calf (most likely), and began vocalizing excitedly in an effort to locate it by either sound (the calf vocally replying) or by sight (with the calf showing up and coming to her side). Her desperation in locating her calf becomes apparent as you hear her give Lost Mews, an Assembly Mew (right at the beginning), Frustrated Whines, Selfish Mews, and even a "Cow Bugle."
